Swivel Gun with Wood Stump Base Attributed to Cook's Arsenal Works
1.5" caliber. 20" barrel length. SN: NSN. Black painted cast iron swivel gun set on a wood base composed of a tree stump. Breech is engraved 0-1-26 with a {Broad Arrow} struck into the top of the gun tube between the trunnions. Item lacks builder's marks but is consistent with examples produced by Cook's Arsenal Works.

Condition
Good. Bore is Dark with patina throughout and some oxidation. Black painted finish shows flaking and losses along the edges with some scratches and mars. Brown patina forming in all losses. Some rust to the mount for the cannon. Wood stump shows signs of rot with deep splits forming throughout that compromise its strength. In house shipping is not available for this lot.
